Why we share your information

Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.

Please note: : If you are a new customer, we can begin sharing your information 30 days from the date we sent this notice. When you are no longer our customer, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.

However, you can contact us at any time to limit our sharing.

To limit direct marketing
  • To limit our direct marketing to you by mail or telephone, call 1-800-640-0635 and follow our menu instructions to speak to a customer service representative.

Please note: A Do Not Call election is effective for five years, or while you are an active customer, if longer than five years. The Do Not Mail election is effective for three years. You may continue to receive marketing information in regular loan mailings and statements, when you visit us online, or access our mobile and web applications. You may also be contacted regarding customer service issues and your loan account.

How does Weststar Mortgage Corporation protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

Our control policies authorize access to customer information by individuals who need access to the information to do their work.

How does Weststar Mortgage Corporation collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you:

  • Apply for a loan or Provide your mortgage information
  • Give us your income information or Provide employment information
  • Provide account information

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus or other companies.

Why can't I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes - information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for non-affiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

Definitions

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Our affiliates include companies with a Weststar Mortgage name, and financial companies such as Weststar Loan Servicing and Goldwater Bank, N.A.

Non-affiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Weststar Mortgage Corporation does not share with non-affiliates so they can market to you.

Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

Weststar Mortgage Corporation doesn't jointly market.

We take our responsibility to protect your right to privacy and confidentiality seriously. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural policy safeguards that comply with state and federal standards.

Other Important Information

Do Not Call Policy: This Consumer Privacy Notice constitutes Weststar Mortgage Corporation’s Do Not Call Policy under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act for all consumers. Weststar Mortgage Corporation maintains an internal Do Not Call preference list. Do Not Call requests will be honored within 30 days and will be effective for at least five years from the date of the request. No telemarketing calls will be made to residential or cellular phone numbers that appear on the Weststar Mortgage Corporation Do Not Call list.

State Law:

State consumer privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their personal information.

California Residents: California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please contact us to submit your request in writing to custserv@westloan.com.

If you are under 18 years of age, reside in California, and have a registered account with Digital Properties, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on Digital Properties. To request removal of such data, please contact us using the contact information provided in the “Contact Us” section below and include the email address associated with your account and a statement that you reside in California. We will make sure the data is not publicly displayed on Digital Properties, but please be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from our systems.

Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah Residents: Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah each provide their state residents with rights to:

  • Confirm whether we process their personal information.
  • Access and delete certain personal information.
  • Data portability.
  • Opt-out of personal data processing for targeted advertising and sales.
  • Correct inaccuracies in their personal information, taking into account the information's nature processing purpose.
  • Opt-out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Nevada Residents: We are providing you this notice pursuant to state law. You may be placed on our internal Do Not Call List by following the directions in the section entitled “To limit direct marketing” above. If you would like more information regarding Nevada law, contact: Bureau of Consumer Protection, Office of Nevada Attorney General, 1-888-434-9989, aginquiries@ag.nv.gov.
