PHISHING NOTICE

Dear Valued Customer,

We're reaching out to inform you about a growing threat to online security: phishing attempts via both emails and phone calls.

Phishing is a deceptive tactic used by cybercriminals to obtain sensitive information such as passwords, financial details, and personal data. These fraudulent attempts often appear to be from legitimate sources, even containing Weststar’s logo, tricking individuals into disclosing their confidential information.

We will never ask you for your credit card, debit card information, or password. If someone is asking you – especially urgently – to provide any info related to personal financial information or passwords, hang up and contact us immediately at:

Weststar Mortgage Corporation
(800) 640-0635
CustServ@westloan.com

If you receive an email warning you of potentially disastrous consequences (foreclosure, legal action, etc.) unless you click their link or contact them to give them urgent information, note the sender’s email address; if it does not come from westloan.com, it is not from us. Also, if the email uses informal, poor grammar, this is a warning sign that it did not come from us.

If you receive an alarming email or phone call reporting to be from Weststar, please contact us immediately using the contact information above.

Further, to safeguard yourself against phishing attacks, please take the following precautions:

  1. Verify the legitimacy: Always verify the sender's identity before responding to any emails or answering phone calls requesting personal or financial information. Be cautious of unexpected communications, especially those urging immediate action or offering unsolicited assistance. If you suspect that the email or phone call might be from someone other than Weststar Mortgage, please contact us using the contact information above.
  2. Exercise caution with links and attachments: Avoid clicking on suspicious links or downloading attachments from unfamiliar sources. Hover over links to verify their destination and refrain from providing login credentials or sensitive data through unsecured channels.
  3. Stay informed and updated: Remain vigilant about the latest phishing tactics and educate yourself and your colleagues about the warning signs of phishing attempts. Regularly update your security software and systems to protect against evolving threats.
  4. Report suspicious activity: If you encounter any suspicious emails or phone calls, report them to us immediately. By reporting phishing attempts promptly, you can help prevent further exploitation and protect yourself and others from falling victim to cybercrime.

Your security is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring a safe and secure experience for all our customers. By staying vigilant and following these guidelines, you can safeguard your personal information and help us combat phishing attempts.

Sincerely,

Weststar Mortgage Corporation
